Edge protection, gantries and specialist structures
Roof edge protection, pedestrian gantries, loading bays and lift shaft access.
Not every temporary works job is a scaffold you climb. Sometimes it is a handrail that stops a fall, a tunnel that keeps the public walking past your site, or a platform that lets a lift shaft be fitted out.
These are the jobs where the design matters more than the tube. We work them out properly and issue drawings where the structure warrants it.
What is included
- Roof edge protection and guardrail systems to HSE requirements
- Pedestrian gantries and tunnels keeping public routes open
- Loading bays and material handling platforms
- Lift shaft access scaffolds and hoist runs
- Propping, shoring and needled structures where design requires
Edge protection & gantries: your questions
Do you arrange highways licences for pavement gantries?
Yes. Anything standing on the public highway needs a licence from the local authority. We apply, provide the drawings and insurance details they ask for, and build the programme around the lead time.
Also worth knowing
Plenty of jobs need two of these at once. A re-roof that needs a temporary roof usually needs a chimney tower as well.
- Domestic scaffolding Roof repairs, extensions, loft conversions and repointing, on driveways and gardens we leave as we found them.
- Commercial scaffolding Shops, schools, offices and industrial units, sequenced around your programme rather than ours.
- Temporary roofs A watertight lid over the whole structure so a stripped roof is not at the mercy of the forecast.
- Chimney & gutter access Tight, stable towers that reach the awkward point on the roof without damaging tiles or borders.
- Conservatory bridging Beam bridges that span glass roofs and outbuildings so nothing rests on a structure that cannot take it.
- Birdcage & crash decks Fully boarded internal platforms for high ceilings, and crash decks that catch what falls.

5 out of 5 stars. Olly and his team were super efficient, friendly and helpful when putting up the scaffolding for roof work that had to be carried out on my house. As soon as the work was finished, they wasted no time and returned the same day to take it down again. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

5 out of 5 stars. Oli at Jarvis scaffolding could not have been more helpful in facilitating the deconstruction of our scaffolding. He was able to bring a team in and have it down with 48 hours notice. Highly professional, fairly priced and great to deal with.

5 out of 5 stars. Masterfully done and not a scratch. Was a difficult placement, across different owners' roofs and with some tricky angles, but they managed quickly and perfectly. Friendly local guys. Highly recommend.
