Scaffolding in Hampshire
Hampshire is home. Our yard sits on Thornham Lane just outside Emsworth, so the coastal strip from Portsmouth through to Southampton is our daily patch.
What Hampshire throws at a scaffolder
Coastal Hampshire throws two things at a scaffold that inland counties do not: wind and salt. Exposed elevations around Portsmouth, Hayling Island and the harbour villages need proper tying and bracing rather than a tick box compliance sheet, and we design accordingly.
Inland it changes again. Winchester and Petersfield bring listed buildings, flint and brick elevations and narrow historic streets where getting the wagon in is half the job. Both are normal weeks for us.
What we do across Hampshire
- Domestic scaffolding, roof repairs, extensions, loft conversions and repointing, on driveways and gardens we leave as we found them.
- Commercial scaffolding, shops, schools, offices and industrial units, sequenced around your programme rather than ours.
- Temporary roofs, a watertight lid over the whole structure so a stripped roof is not at the mercy of the forecast.
- Chimney & gutter access, tight, stable towers that reach the awkward point on the roof without damaging tiles or borders.
- Conservatory bridging, beam bridges that span glass roofs and outbuildings so nothing rests on a structure that cannot take it.
- Birdcage & crash decks, fully boarded internal platforms for high ceilings, and crash decks that catch what falls.
- Edge protection & gantries, roof edge protection, pedestrian gantries, loading bays and lift shaft access.
Towns we cover in Hampshire
These are the places we are in most often. If yours is not listed it does not mean we do not come to it, so ring and ask.
- Portsmouth Portsmouth is our closest city and a lot of it is dense Victorian terrace, which means pavement licences, tight frontages and scaffolds that have to be built without closing the street.
- Havant Havant, Emsworth and Waterlooville are effectively on our doorstep. If you need somebody to look at a job today, this is the area where we can usually manage it.
- Fareham Fareham and the Portchester side mix postwar estates with waterfront properties, where exposure to the harbour means wind loading gets taken seriously in the design.
- Petersfield Petersfield and the villages under the South Downs bring listed and period stock, so bespoke design drawings and non marking ground protection come up regularly.
- Winchester Winchester work is often conservation area and listed building repair, where the scaffold has to satisfy the planners as well as the roofer.
- Southampton Southampton gives us a steady mix of commercial refurbishment and student and rental housing stock, much of it needing temporary roofs and full sheeting.
- Basingstoke Basingstoke and the north Hampshire towns are largely modern estate housing, where the work is loft conversions, extensions and solar installations.

5 out of 5 stars. Olly and his team were super efficient, friendly and helpful when putting up the scaffolding for roof work that had to be carried out on my house. As soon as the work was finished, they wasted no time and returned the same day to take it down again. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

5 out of 5 stars. Oli at Jarvis scaffolding could not have been more helpful in facilitating the deconstruction of our scaffolding. He was able to bring a team in and have it down with 48 hours notice. Highly professional, fairly priced and great to deal with.

5 out of 5 stars. Masterfully done and not a scratch. Was a difficult placement, across different owners' roofs and with some tricky angles, but they managed quickly and perfectly. Friendly local guys. Highly recommend.
